Berlinale Talents is a talent development programme that explores the how and why of movie making. Since 2003, it has grown to become a one-of-a-kind forum for film professionals and cinema lovers alike, featuring public talks, workshops, networking events and alumni screenings. While the Berlinale sections showcase films in all their facets and the European Film Market is the festival's most vibrant business hub, our focus are creative people and how they see the world through a different lens.

SeriesLab is an advanced training programme for European scriptwriters, directors and producers with a TV series project at an early stage of development. SeriesLab aims at developing innovative and high-profile international TV series projects through 3 residential workshops.

ScriptLab trains scriptwriters and directors developing a script for a feature film, as well as story editors. It ventures into exploring different ways in which an audiovisual project can be born: a script based on an original story or an adaptation based on a pre-existing work.

European Genre Forum is a pan-european project organized by Black Nights Film Festival from Tallinn; Imagine Film Festival from Amsterdam and Fantastic Zagreb Film Festival .The main goal of this international project is to connect young and upcoming European film talents. The European Genre Forum (EGF) is a training programme that sets to boost the careers of future European players in the genre film industry through two talent labs, packed with trainings, panels mentoring and pitching sessions.

MFI Script 2 Film Workshops offer an advanced training programme which provides a platform for the effective script and project development of European & international feature films. It consists of consists of 2 on-location workshop sessions and 2 online sessions per year.

EKRAN+ is a 22-day project based professional training programme, primarily designed for directors/writer-directors, and focusing on the vision of their future film. Their vision is elaborated through the combination of three major elements: the script, the audiovisual components and the collaboration with the other professionals involved in the shooting of the film. EKRAN+ focuses participants on exploring, identifying and refining the tone and visual language of film. EKRAN+ aims to advance participants’ treatments/scripts and produce two scenes from each script/ treatment.

The programme offers a space for screenwriters to consolidate skills, exchange ideas, and discuss challenges, all within a collaborative five-day intensive lab at TIFF Bell Lightbox. Participants are supported to take their careers and projects to the next level as they participate in workshops, panel discussions, peer-to-peer mentorship, and one-on-one project development consultations guided by Canadian and international experts.

TIFF Filmmaker Lab brings together some of the world’s most promising filmmaking talent during the Toronto International Film Festival. Over a five-day period, selected participants learn from internationally acclaimed filmmakers and guests, deepening their industry understanding and empowering them to move forward with their projects.
